New business just getting started but they have very good access to local captains who know where the fish are. The business has both deep sea fishing boats and sit on fishing kayaks and they will take you out on guided spear fishing tours. These are really good people who are focused on making sure you have the best time on the water in Costa Rica.

When I heard that my buddies and I were doing a fishing charter, I had no idea that this experience would be life changing. Séamus and his crew were so knowledgeable about locating the fish and making sure that my friends and I were enjoying ourselves. The dolphins were jumping out of the water spinning and we saw several whales shooting water from their spouts right in front of our boat. We caught tuna until we were tired of reeling them in. We could not believe how well our fishing charter had turned out! We were dancing on the boat as Séamus turned up the music and passed around sandwiches, chips and drinks. I cannot wait to get back to do another charter with this incredible crew. It was that day that I realized what the phrase Pura Vida actually meant.

Had an awesome half day inshore charter Feb 15! Even though we booked last minute, Seamus was able to organize a combined fishing/snorkeling trip. The boat, Leviathan, was very clean and comfortable. The snorkeling equipment was in great shape. Our captain, Eddie, was a lifetime Samara fisherman. We don’t speak much Spanish but Eddie’s English was great. We caught grouper and dogfish, and saw dolphins, turtles, rays, and even a couple of whales. Our crew offered snacks, drinks and even sunscreen! Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Playa Samara area.

Sámara Sportfishing has a very skilled crew and the best boat on the water. The owner and captains work hard to put you on fish all while making sure everyone is having a great time. They are my go to fishing crew!
